Clay DNA Project

Quite a number of our Clay colleagues have taken part in the  Clay DNA  Y - 37 project  and we have the results for the counties of Derbyshire, Durham, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, London, Nottinghamshire, North Shields, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Yorkshire and other places. We have all tested with the online firm Family Tree DNA from which kits are available at - familytreedna.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The Y-DNA 37 marker kits are priced at 99 dollars which is just under £88. It is quite a simple procedure and full instructions are given in the kit and it involves a painless procedure just rubbing the provided plastic spatula on the inside of your cheek and place it in the special container supplied and return it in the supplied envelope to Family Tree DNA at Houston. Texas. USA it usually takes between 3 and 6 weeks to receive your results.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The Y-DNA chromosome passes from father to son and so is passed down generation to generation to you from your early male ancestors.
